Fans were surprised when cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal suddenly postponed their wedding. The ceremony was supposed to take place on November 23, but the celebrations stopped after Smriti’s father fell seriously ill and had to be taken to the hospital. Soon after, even Palash was admitted due to stress.
Although Smriti’s manager clearly stated that the wedding was delayed only because of her father’s health, social media still started blaming the wedding choreographers for the situation. Rumours claimed they were somehow involved in the “relationship issue,” which led to the cancellation.
To stop the misinformation, choreographers Nandika Dwivedi and Gulnaaz Khan shared public statements.
Nandika, who had briefly made her Instagram account private because of random messages and threats, opened it again to set the record straight. She wrote that the rumours about her personal involvement were completely false.
She said, “People are making assumptions about me that are not true. I did not cause problems in anyone’s relationship. These false accusations are affecting my mental health. My family has seen the threats I’ve received, and that’s why I had to make my account private.”
Nandika also requested everyone to stop dragging her name into the matter. “I’ve worked very hard to build my career in Mumbai. Please stop spreading baseless rumours. The truth will come out eventually,” she added.
Gulnaaz Khan also supported her friend and shared her own clarification. She said people were making wrong assumptions just because the choreographers had photos with the couple or knew them socially. “We are not involved in this issue at all. Please don’t connect us to their personal matters,” she wrote.
Both choreographers asked the public to stay respectful and avoid spreading false stories during an already difficult time for everyone involved.
