Actress Saumya Tandon, who is a famous actress has said her comment on “heroines performing songs at exotic beach locations” was not aimed towards Yash Raj Films‘ Spyverse or any action film franchise. The announcement came in the wake of an online discussion that related her comment to the cinematic style used in many high-profile spy movies.
The debate began after Tandon replied to an online user’s suggestion that her most recent film Dhurandhar was a female-centric film that depicted male characters in a retrograde fashion due to its male-dominated environment.
Response to Criticism About Female Representation in Dhurandhar
In her initial response, Tandon defended the portrayal of women in Dhurandhar. And described them as respectful and non-stereotypical in spite of the film’s strict and tense background. Tandon stated that the film does not denigrate the female characters nor show women in submissive roles.
In addressing the nature of the setting for the film. She wrote that the story required a realistic approach. And didn’t offer the possibility of extravagant glamour or music sequences that are typically found in films for commercial purposes.

Saumya Tandon Issues Clarification
In response to this speculation Tandon issued a new message in which she claimed that her comments were incorrectly interpreted. She clarified that she wasn’t offering any criticism or comparison of other production companies.
The writer wrote “I’m no taking any attack on anyone at all. I love every type of film – beach romance mountains, love stories about mountains music and dance, all of it. However, this film did not have the grain or the need. Please don’t print what I didn’t write.”
Tandon said that her comment was not meant to be a way of explaining the tone and style of Dhurandhar.
