Mahindra has released a new teaser for its upcoming electric SUV, the XEV 9S, which is set for a global debut on 27 November 2025. The latest teaser showcases a standout feature called “Boss Mode”. With the press of a button, the front passenger seat slides forward electronically to create extra legroom for the rear passenger — a comfort-focused addition aimed at buyers who often travel with a chauffeur. Tata already offers a similar feature on the Harrier EV and Safari, and now Mahindra is joining the competition with its own version.
Inside, the XEV 9S is expected to offer a premium, futuristic cabin. The highlight is a triple-screen setup, which includes a central touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital driver display, and a dedicated passenger screen. Other key features likely to be offered include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, dual-zone climate control, power-adjustable driver seat, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, Level-2 ADAS and a two-spoke illuminated steering wheel.
The teaser hints at a bold exterior design featuring a closed-off grille, sleek LED headlamps, connected DRLs, aerodynamic alloy wheels and sharp LED tail lights. The XEV 9S will be based on the INGLO platform and will serve as the 7-seater electric counterpart to the XUV700. It is closely related to the XEV 9e, likely sharing the same powertrain and battery options.
Mahindra is expected to offer two battery packs — 59 kWh and 79 kWh — with the larger pack projected to deliver a range of over 600 km on a single charge. With its premium features, powerful battery options and modern tech, the XEV 9S is gearing up to be a strong contender in India’s rapidly growing EV market.
