‘Why Is He Hiding Like A Rat?’ IndiGo Passengers Lose Temper, Kick Exit Door After 3-Hour Delay

A quiet trip overseas took a sharp turn sideways. People on an IndiGo plane heading from Mumbai to Krabi sat trapped in their seats close to three hours – no moving allowed. The holdup wasn’t explained right away. Tempers flared without warning. Some passengers shouted at crew members. One man pushed a flight attendant. Confusion spread fast down the aisle. Windows stayed darkened. Announcements came late, if at all. A woman banged her hand against an armrest. Others refused to stay calm. Time crawled while staff moved slowly through tight rows. Silence broke again when someone yelled toward the cockpit door. No apologies arrived before touchdown.

Filmed during a tense moment, the scene spread fast when writer Tarun Shukla posted it online – reactions erupted across platforms soon after.

What Led to the Hold Up?

The viral video came with details about the holdup – it stemmed from the pilot hitting his maximum allowed work time. Even though he had warned the company earlier, folks were already seated inside the plane. With no solid word on departure, frustration grew among those waiting. Things started getting tense as minutes turned into hours.

Chaos Inside the Cabin

A single flight attendant stands at the center of chaos, surrounded by rising voices. Passengers push out of their seats, faces tight with anger. Kicks land on the forward exit door, hard and fast. Shouts rise together – “IndiGo haye haye” echoing through the narrow space. The air feels thick, charged with unrest

A scream cuts through the air. She yells something about a pilot acting like a coward, voice sharp with disbelief. A man nearby won’t stop shoving against the flight attendant, his anger spilling into every kick at the locked cabin door. Each impact echoes down the aisle. The situation feels unstable, ready to snap.

A flight attendant stands firm even as people shout and push around her. Her voice stays steady while she tries to quiet things down on her own. One person yells, then another steps forward – she blocks them without flinching. The noise grows louder, yet she moves slowly, deliberately. She speaks low, choosing each word like it weighs something real. Around her, tension stretches tight. Still, she does not back up an inch.

Pilot Criticizes Passenger Conduct

When the video began circulating fast across the web, Pilot Vijay Hiremath made his disapproval clear – directed at what those on board had done. He shared his thoughts publicly, stating:

Folks found his words relatable, sparking fresh talk about how travelers behave and what flight crews face.

Online Outcry Calls for No-Fly List Action

Folks online didn’t hesitate to criticize the rowdy travelers, some demanding tougher consequences.

“The language here is just so crass and sad. I know it’s frustrating, but cussing like this won’t change anything,” one user wrote.

Another commented, “Three hours sitting on the ground can drive anyone crazy, but abuse and violence are never the solution.”

Some pointed out the larger safety issue. “Do these people realise it’s their own lives at risk if a pilot is not comfortable flying?” a user asked.

Many also praised the cabin crew member for her composure. “That lone crew member showed exceptional professionalism. She had zero control over ATC or operational decisions, yet became the punching bag,” one comment read. Another added, “If I were in her place, I’d be hiding under the seat. Hats off to her.”

Were Passengers Punished?

A fresh report shows Tarun Shukla confirming arrests made after a disturbance by the cockpit area. One of those held was acting out, then another followed close behind in defiance. Since things escalated quickly, crew stepped in without delay. These individuals failed to follow directions, so restraint became necessary. With tension high, authorities took charge once the plane landed. Behaviour like this triggers immediate consequences midflight. Now both are facing review under aviation rules.

IndiGo Releases Official Statement

Out of nowhere, IndiGo put out a message about what happened. They said the flight from Mumbai to Krabi got held up – not just one reason, but several piled on. Weather played a part, then crew scheduling slipped. Air traffic at departure added more wait time. Technical checks took longer than expected too

The plane showed up behind schedule. Its delay pushed everything back. Because of that, people waited longer than expected. Things started moving only when it finally landed

Air traffic congestion

When workers stay on the job past their allowed hours

A spokesperson said a pair of travelers acted out during boarding. One shouted at staff, the other refused to stow their bag. Crew marked them as disruptive. Gate agents removed both before takeoff. Authorities took over from there. The holdup stretched longer because of it.

Midway through the delay, food and drinks made several appearances. People could find help nearby at any moment. Safety matters deeply here. Everyone deserves dignity while traveling. Crews stayed present, ready to guide.

A Reminder on Staying Safe and Doing the Right Thing

Frustration runs high when flights get delayed, yet what happened shows something clearer. Discipline matters most, also patience, along with how people treat one another. Decisions by pilots and cabin staff always aim to keep everyone safe above all else. Acting out during a flight adds danger where none should exist.
