The highly anticipated action thriller Dhurandhar featuring Ranveer Singh and written by Aditya Dhar -it has made a splash with its debut at the theaters, earning in more than 27 crore rupees in its first day.

This haul not only over-estimated estimates of around the range of Rs15-18 crore, but it also surpassed the opening day revenue that were earned by Saiyaara (Rs21.50 million) and set an all-time record by Singh.

It was released on the Friday of 5 December The film had an overall occupancy of 33.8 percent and evening shows seeing over 55% the occupancy.

The major metropolitan regions played a significant role to the overall performance. The National Capital Region (NCR) had the highest participation, with 40% of the audience attending 1,371 shows. Mumbai was next with around 35% of the 1 024 television screens.

Alongside Ranveer Singh The film also features actors like Sanjay Dutt Akshaye Khanna R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal in key roles, and is produced under the auspices of Jio Studios and B62 Studios.

The impressive Day-1 performance of the film underscores its large appeal. It also is a triumphant return to Singh who has positioned “Dhurandhar” as one of the most successful openers that 2025 has seen so far.
