Fresh papers from the U.S. justice department show Elon Musk stayed in touch with Jeffrey Epstein – more than people knew. These records emerged within a flood of over three million pages. Messages between them stretch across 2012 and 2013. Talks popped up about trips to Epstein’s secluded island, Little St James, tucked in the Caribbean. Friendly tones marked their correspondence, according to what’s now visible.
Emails show Musk and Epstein exchanged several messages about arranging a meeting during Musk’s trip to the British Virgin Islands and St Barthélemy. Holidays were approaching when Musk mentioned his presence in the area, sending a note on December 13, 2013, asking whether a visit could fit into Epstein’s calendar.
Epstein responded saying January 1 through 8 worked fine, adding there’d “always [be] space” for Musk. They began leaning toward January 2 as the planned day. Later, plans shifted – Epstein called it off because of prior commitments holding him in New York.
Files include earlier messages from late 2012. One back-and-forth shows Epstein asking Musk who’d join him on a helicopter ride to the island. Musk answered probably only himself and his wife at the time, Talulah Riley, an actress – then wanted to know when the wildest party there might happen. Later notes show Musk curious about events in St Barts but passing on what he called a quiet retreat. Epstein shot back with a proposal to connect in St Barts, tossing in a remark about women outnumbering men on his private spot. Musk gave little reaction to that last part.
Even though the messages seemed friendly, not one email proves Musk actually went to Epstein’s island. A note from Musk on January 2, 2013, shot down the idea – his reason?

Fresh papers make things messy for what Musk once said about Epstein in public. Back then, during a talk in 2019, he called Epstein “clearly creepy” while adding that the man kept asking him to visit his private island – requests he says he turned down every time. That man, Epstein, admitted guilt in 2008 for paying a young person for sex, then faced new national charges years later tied to moving people for sexual acts. By that point in 2019, he had been discovered lifeless inside his prison room.
Somewhere amid those leaked messages, a note from Epstein’s assistant floats by – mentioning plans for lunch at SpaceX back in early 2013. That meal? Marked as confirmed in one line, yet nobody knows if chairs were ever pulled up or names called across a table. Around the same time, another exchange flickers through: Epstein sending praise after a rocket climbed skyward, Musk replying without delay, words measured but polite.
Questions have followed Musk before when Epstein came up, especially once old papers named him. Yet he says flat out that he never knew Epstein personally, nor did he recognize Maxwell – though he recalls her popping into a photo near him somewhere crowded. That trip to Epstein’s place in New York? He admits it happened, short, just half an hour, alongside Riley. The whole thing was brief, nothing more.
Oddly enough, even as he denies any role himself, Musk turned around and called out other people – like Bill Gates – for supposedly knowing Epstein. At one time, he also said Trump showed up in documents tied to Epstein, though those remarks vanished afterward.
After the documents came out, those who speak for Musk and his businesses stayed silent when asked to share thoughts.
