Adani Green Energy Reports 37% YoY Growth in Energy Sales During First Nine Months of FY26

Ahead of expectations, Adani Green Energy Ltd saw power deliveries jump by 37% compared to last year through March. Momentum builds as the company expands output, feeding more renewable supply into national grids. Growth like this doesn’t happen overnight – years of project rollouts now show results. Electricity sold isn’t just rising – it’s accelerating alongside infrastructure gains. Through steady progress, AGEL strengthens its role in shifting India toward cleaner sources.

Friday brought news from the firm, sharing how rapid expansion pushed results upward. Plant uptime stayed strong, helping output grow. New clean energy methods were put to work, shifting momentum further. This stretch cements AGEL among top global players powering change through nature-friendly systems.

Fueled by fresh capacity coming online, AGEL moved 27,636 million units of power across nine months in fiscal year twenty-six. New builds in sun-drenched parts of Gujarat – Khavda among them – and developments scattered through Rajasthan laid much of the groundwork. Growth didn’t come from one single push, instead it built up quietly where land and light meet.

A jump in how much energy was produced led straight to better finances. Power sales brought in Rs 8,508 crore – up 25% compared to last year – with earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization hitting Rs 7,921 crore, a 24% gain. Even with higher output, margins stayed tight at 91.5%, among the best in the sector, showing smart handling of operations and costs.

A jump of 21% brought power supply revenue to Rs 2,420 crore in just the third quarter, compared to last year; meanwhile, EBITDA hit Rs 2,269 crore, up by 23%. Because AGEL sticks to big projects, runs on tech precision, and keeps costs tight, its profit margins stay steady. Though quarters change, that formula holds firm.

Growth at AGEL? It’s tied closely to how fast they’ve scaled up what they can actually run. Their renewable energy setup now stands at 17.2 gigawatts – that’s 48% more than last year alone. Hitting 50 gigawatts by 2030 doesn’t seem far off given this pace. Nearly three gigawatts came online just in the first nine months of FY26, built from scratch. That single stretch covered most of what they’d added across the entire prior fiscal year. When measured by calendar year, those new ground-up projects totaled 5.6 gigawatts. Put another way, that chunk made up around 14 out of every 100 megawatts of solar and wind power newly available in India.

Starting strong with its massive footprint, AGEL’s Khavda venture in Gujarat stands at the core of recent growth. Covering 538 square kilometres, it runs on 7.7 gigawatts powered by sun, wind, and mixed technologies together. Instead of old methods, they’re using double-sided solar panels, moving mounts, powerful 5.2 megawatt windmills, along with robot cleaners that need no water – boosting output quietly. By 2029, their goal is hitting 30 gigawatts at Khavda, drawing attention worldwide for sheer size and smart design.

Getting things done well made a big difference in how much power is produced. From a single control hub, the team keeps an eye on all sites nonstop using smart software that learns from numbers and patterns instead of waiting for problems to show up. Because of this way of working, targets set in supply contracts were passed again and again – by the end of March, seven point nine out of ten parts of the yearly promise had already been hit. Reaching most of the goal so early came down to staying ahead with tech that spots issues before they grow.

One step at a time, AGEL keeps showing how solid results come from steady work tied to real care for the planet. Top of the list worldwide among green utilities – that is where Energy Intelligence placed them last. Back home, NSE rated them highest once more in sustainable power production across India. Not stopping there, they built stronger proof of their environmental responsibility through actions rooted in restoring natural systems. Awards followed, yes, but what matters more is how those reflect actual progress on clean electricity and smart water use. Quiet moves forward often speak loudest.

Commenting on the performance, AGEL CEO Ashish Khanna said the company’s rapid capacity additions, landmark projects, and operational discipline have reinforced its leadership in renewable energy. “With more than 27 billion units of clean electricity generated in nine months – enough to power a country the size of Azerbaijan for a year – AGEL continues to play a pivotal role in advancing India’s decarbonisation goals,” he added.

Nowhere else has the push for massive solar farms made such steady progress. Thanks to smart tech choices, gains stack up faster than expected. Efficiency isn’t just a goal – it shows in daily output numbers. Leadership stays strong because results keep coming. Clean power growth in India leans heavily on what happens here. Global rankings reflect that truth clearly.
