Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma Make Second Alibaug Land Purchase, Invest Over ₹37 Crore

Beside the water near Mumbai, a plot shifted owners without fanfare. This time, it wasn’t random investors – Virat Kohli along with Anushka Sharma bought more than five acres in Alibaug for ₹37.86 crore.

Paperwork recently collected by CRE Matrix brought the deal to light. Once more, their names show up in local land files, signaling another addition to their holdings. Last time we checked, a fresh stretch of land had joined their holdings nearby. That addition ties into the ground they’ve held here for ages. Before long, it was clear – more space meant more connections to old territory.

On January 13, 2026, a quiet transfer happened close to Awas Beach, within Zirad village. Ownership changed for two connected parcels of land. One holds 14,740 square metres – almost 1.5 hectares in size. That plot dwarfs the other, which covers only 6,270 square metres. Though separate on paper, they sit as one piece on the ground.

That adds up to 21,010 square metres when put together. The transfer happened from Sonali Amit Rajput to fresh recipients. Confirmation arrived via Samira Land Assets Private Limited. Payments followed close behind – ₹2.27 crore paid for stamp duty alone. Another ₹30,000 shifted hands just for registration.

Far from the noise, Alibabad shifted quietly years back. Not in 2023 but earlier – Kohli arrived alongside Sharma, claiming eight acres for quiet days.

Inside that space, water stayed still in a pool despite freezing winters or burning summers. Close by, a cooking area took form, built only how they liked it. Each of four rooms carried its own bathroom, set apart.

Beneath wide air, a deep bath sat filled. Grass rolled on, cut short and even. A roofed space stood ready to shelter vehicles. Spaces inside reserved for people who make daily life work. Stillness shaped each part of the place, quiet but clear. Smooth function stayed out of view.

Down south of the noise, close to Mandwa Jetty, sits Zirad – drawing eyes now that fresh stays have popped up. To reach it from Mumbai by car, you follow the entire ribbon of the Mumbai–Goa highway, which eats up nearly six hours.

But another way opens if folks step onto a ferry at Gateway of India; they touch shore at Mandwa well under sixty minutes. Tucked inside Raigad district in Maharashtra, this patch of Alibaug has long whispered charm to actors and athletes alike. Quiet is what pulls them here, far from honking lanes and city rush.

Nowhere near sudden, price climbs here took their time.

These flats now sit between fifteen thousand and seventeen thousand rupees a square foot. Land pricing plays its own game – depends entirely on category. Three to five crores each acre if it’s farmland, say those who deal in such things. Non-farm zones draw eight up to ten crores instead. A recent sale tied to Kohli and Sharma stands out among newer deals.

Fog hung low as familiar names began moving quietly behind closed doors, grabbing patches of coastal soil. One winter morning, sunlight touched down while a celebrity laid out one hundred million rupees for ten thousand square feet – no announcements, only whispers. Clouds stayed thick for months until three connected parcels changed hands, adding nearly seven crore without notice.

By 2025, rain had drenched the earth when another film figure showed up, softer than the others. Near Chateau, they picked up two thousand square feet, passing over twenty million as if weightless. Far past the shore, where wide fields meet old trees, a filmmaker took hold of rural land early in 2024. Before spring warmth arrived, she completed the deal – ninety-five million rupees changing hands. Property lines shifted under quiet skies.

Outside the city’s rush, near Alibaug, big builders such as Oberoi Realty hold wide plots of land. Close by, Lodha Developers push ahead, while Hiranandani expands steadily into the area. Well-known cricket players look this way – Rohit Sharma picked a peaceful spot nearby. Just like him, Sachin Tendulkar settled in quietly. Ajit Agarkar built his life there, following paths earlier taken by ex-coach Ravi Shastri.

Nothing yet from Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma, or the seller. Should news come through, it goes up immediately.

Out there where the water meets the sky, Alibaug keeps drawing familiar names back again. Close enough to Mumbai for a quick trip, but quiet like another universe. The waves roll in while big stars keep returning – Kohli showed up once more, Sharma did too. It is not just about escaping the noise. People from everywhere want a piece of that shoreline calm. What they find stays with them.
