Film Body Seeks PM Narendra Modi’s Intervention to Release Dhurandhar in Gulf Countries

Still flying high on home soil, Ranveer Singh’s spy flick Dhurandhar stumbles overseas. Trouble brews where six Gulf nations refuse screening. Unease spreads through Bollywood circles. A plea now sits before the nation’s top leadership, waiting.

Now stepping forward, IMPPA asks PM Modi to step in so the movie can open in Gulf countries. Even though people across India are watching it, Dhurandhar remains blocked in places like Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. Word is, officials there aren’t happy with how Pakistan comes off in the story.

Confirming the development, IMPPA President Abhay Sinha told India Today that the association has written to the Prime Minister, requesting diplomatic and institutional support. “We want them to watch the film and reconsider the ban. The letter was sent last evening, and we are hopeful of a positive outcome. Dhurandhar is one of India’s biggest films, and the world should get a chance to watch it,” he said.

Fifth week in, crowds still pack theaters across India despite global doubts. Not letting uncertainty dampen momentum, Dhurandhar holds firm at home. Midweek numbers stay sharp – Wednesday brought in Rs 4.75 crore nett. That tally on Day 32 speaks volumes about staying power. Interest doesn’t waver, screens keep buzzing.

Ahead of everything stands the difference – one where a movie does well locally but can’t land showings abroad. Especially telling, places around the Gulf matter deeply for Hindi films. Not just any viewers, these regions host millions from South Asia who keep foreign earnings steady year after year.

With groups urging talks and a second look, attention shifts to if such moves – helped by officials – might let Dhurandhar play in Gulf cinemas after all. Right now, viewers overseas stay eager, quietly believing the movie’s worldwide run has merely been held up, never blocked.
