Owners of the club in which the devastating fire claimed twenty-five lives, in the north of Goa have left the country, Goa police announced on Monday. The brothers Saurabh Luthra as well as Gaurav Luthra who are the owners of Birch by Romeo Lane — reportedly took off on IndiGo flight 6E 1073, which was flying from Delhi to Phuket early on the 7th of December only a few hours after the fire.
Authorities have confirmed that they had received a Look-Out Circular (LOC) was issued by the Bureau of Immigration after the brothers did not return to their homes. The brothers’ quick departure was seen as a plot to avoid being investigated.
In the FIR that was filed following the incident following the incident, the Luthra brothers were charged with culpable murder that is not murder-related and negligent conduct in relation to combustible material or fire and actions that could compromise the safety of others.
In the meantime, police have arrested various employees of the club – such as the director as well as other staff members. They are conducting searches on homes that are linked to the owners.
