Indian women’s cricket star Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal were set to tie the knot on November 23. However, the couple has postponed their wedding after Smriti’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, was rushed to the hospital following a sudden health scare. Now, reports suggest that Palash was also admitted to a hospital shortly after.
The incident took place on Sunday in Sangli, where the ceremony was scheduled. Soon after Smriti’s father’s health deteriorated, Palash reportedly developed a viral infection along with severe acidity and had to seek medical treatment. Fortunately, his condition was not serious. After treatment, he was discharged and has returned to the hotel.
Smriti’s manager, Tuhin Mishra, confirmed the situation and shared that the family prioritised health over rituals.
Smriti’s family doctor, Dr. Naman Shah, also gave an update on her father’s condition. He revealed that Shrinivas Mandhana experienced chest pain around 1.30 pm. Tests, including an ECG, indicated elevated cardiac enzymes, so he continues to remain under observation. If his condition improves, he may be discharged soon.
Given the circumstances, the family has decided to postpone the wedding and all related ceremonies indefinitely. A new date will be finalised only after Smriti’s father makes a full recovery.
